As part of the Festas de Lisboa, you will have the chance to take a stroll around Lisbon with your favourite writers and artists.

To mark 20 years since it was founded, the EGEAC has invited 20 writers and 20 illustrators to create a “Lisbon guidebook”. The 40 creatives were given complete artistic freedom to range across the city from corner to corner, pausing wherever they felt the pull of something culturally intriguing. The book was the brainchild of Patrícia Portela and Afonso Cruz, who, together with various collaborators, will launch it on 8 June at the Lisbon Book Fair. An exhibition showcasing illustrations from the guide will open at the Galeria Abysmo at 9pm on the same day. During the Festas, writers and illustrators who contributed to the guidebook will pair up to offer tours of their favourite slices of Lisbon, discussing their selected area as they walk through the streets of the city.
